On November 8, 2018, the smoke from the destruction by wildfire of Paradise, California filled the skies of San Francisco, 160 miles away. The sunlight filtering through the smoke was red orange. This is the light shining on an off white wall.

The Other Kind of Rainbow
The day after I shot the Leprechaun type of rainbow in our backyard, Madam Le Chef and I drove south on the freeway to see some friends in Menlo Park. We went under some dramatic rain clouds that produced rainbows less Leprechaun and more Apocalypse. Mme Le Chef shot some pictures through the windshield.

California
The bureau chief has even more photos of France that he will feature in the future, but now to celebrate the Golden State. None of these photos look like France. (Please click.)
Saw this tiny car on a nearby pier.
On the approach to the Golden Gate Bridge, a pink vision.
We got to talk to the owner of this purple wonder who was a very nice gentleman. If memory serves it's a 1932 Ford but now contains parts of at least four other cars of varying vintages.
This was glimpsed on the drive home along The Great Highway.
